2016 Update
Well, what started off as a bit-of-an experiment, is now into it's fourth year with wonderful stories and experiences behind us. What did we had in mind and what we eventually became or what carried us through, proved to be quite durable concepts. Caring for the comfort and well being of our guests who ever they might be and where ever from. Not pretending. Being honest. Transparent. Big focus on Process. Getting out of the way.
For the past two years it has been more of a family affair with the arrival/return to Westport of the two Sons. Luca and Niko who run the hotel on a day to day basis. They have brought new styles, younger, more relaxed and casual.
This works. Everything still gets taken care of. More cool. This lets the guests get on with their own business.
The art is still happening, present everywhere, subtle and mundane. We have had over fifty shows. Cool.
There are modification of the spaces going on the whole time, upgrades, improvements, responses to comments, feed back. And still the core remains unchanged.
Old hotel, recycled/re-purposed. Old world comfort and charm. Private. Character, lots of character, character which grows and lives on.
These might be the last days. Pressure to modernize, conform and comply is always present but for now....we can still welcome you into a unique working art hotel.

Seems that some people want to stay a long time, they live here and others just come for a little while, over night or a weekend. There are ten rooms overlooking the municipal park and it is just off the busy centre of town. It's a fine, old example of Westport history.
There are other spaces which we are employed on, such as Gallery, Dining , Lounges, Kitchens, Workshops, Studio, Gardens and a fine Terrace facing the Municipal reserve .
We are an association of friends and artists conveying creative answers and some free conceiving to the inquiry of where to stay in town where to eat and where is the breakthrough art?
So if you like the concept of localized art on the walls, original thinking, outside the carton, concepts of recycling taken to extremes, integrated politics, new ways of doing things, do-ups in advancement and much more, then bang on the buttons.
